Yatish Kumar’s passion for literature energizes Hindi literary scene in India | India is blooming

Yatish Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Braithwaite & Company Ltd, a veteran poet, author and scholar, has promoted Hindi poetry and literature across India.

Kumar was the man behind the success of the three-day “Literaria 2021” litfest in Kolkata, which was attended by more than 50 literary heavyweights from across the country.

From November 18 to 20, 2022, Kolkata’s Hindi literary scene would once again be bustling with `Literaria 2022′ for which preparations are in full swing.

Once again, Sri Yatish Kumar has taken the reins to ensure that the event sets the mood for established and upcoming Hindi and regional literati from India to showcase their latest literary endeavors at the three-day litfest under the aegis of Nilambar – a Kolkata-based prestigious literary organization.

A quarterly literary magazine of Nilambar `Saptaparni’ would be officially published during the inaugural ceremony on November 18, 2022, in the presence of the heavyweights of Hindi literature.

“In recent years, the Hindi literary scene has been very vibrant with young poets and authors coming from various regions and small towns in India.

“The litfests and different literary events provide the right exposure and opportunity to showcase their works, which in turn has instilled new ideas and approaches and has greatly enriched the Hindi literary scenario in the country in recent years. There is a new Hindi literary ecosystem in the making,” said Yatish Kumar, who is actively associated with various literary and social organizations.

Heavyweights of Hindi literature would attend the festival. Yatish Kumar is also the current Chairman and Managing Director of Braithwaite & Co Ltd.

Yatish Kumar has made a special creative presence in the literary world over the past few years. His poetic reviews of popular novels, stories and travelogues have particularly caught the attention of readers. His poems and memoirs have been published in most reputable journals.

A hardcore professional with a poetic heart, Yatish Kumar was also the youngest executive to be appointed Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of a public sector company in India. Born August 21, 1976 (Munger, Bihar), Yatish Kumar has developed his own distinctive style in poetry, literary work and travelogues.

An officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) from 1996, Sri Yatish Kumar is the recipient of the national award in 2006 for his outstanding contribution to the service of Indian Railways.

The compilation of poems from Sri Kumar’s book “Antas Ki Khurchan” received rave reviews and was praised in literary circles for its fresh approach and novelty. Sri Yatish Kumar is the president of the prestigious literary organization “Nilambar” based in Kolata. For the past 20 years, he has espoused the Kolkata cause.

Sri Yatish Kumar’s poems and memoirs have been widely published in major newspapers and magazines. He also has a creative presence on popular literary blogs like Hindavi, Samalochan, Janki Pul, Pehli Bar and Kavita Kosh.

Apart from the National and Zonal Railway Awards, Yatish Kumar received the “Outstanding Global Leadership Award-2019” from the Institute of Economic Studies; World HRD Congress CEO with HR Orientation Award and CMD Leadership Award in Governance and the 8th PSU Award in 2021.

Yatish Kumar has always been at the forefront of supporting various social upliftment programs.

He has been instrumental in creating cultural capital by promoting Hindi literature across the country and has also launched various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to help create infrastructure and build capacity.
