The current NDA government and LG administration should heed nectar like the words of the former Prime Minister and approach the Kashmir issue with a soft approach and avoid harsh and harsh ways and means.
Heavy-handed and coercive policies had not worked in Jammu and Kashmir and had not produced positive results and had not checked militancy but rather enhanced militancy. Therefore, it is now necessary to follow a soft approach towards militancy and try to win the hearts and minds of the people so that they shun and walk away from militancy and join the national mainstream. This is only possible when the government follows the people-friendly and pro-people policies so that the hearts and minds of the alienated people are won and they feel the sense of belonging to the nation. So, instead of pursuing tough and tough policies to deal with militancy, it is necessary to follow and pursue pro-people policies to win the hearts and minds of the people. There is a need to put Prime Minister Modi’s golden words into practice so that the government is able to win not only the support of the people, but to win the hearts and minds of the alienated people of Jammu and Kashmir. For this, it is all the more necessary to bridge the distance and the gap between the government and the people of Jammu and Kashmir so that they see themselves as the true sons of India and this is only possible when the government is able to win the hearts and minds of the people and give death kneel to tough and tough policies. Thus, the urgent requirement is that the central government and the LG administration should soothe the wounded psyche of the insane people and give them the touch of healing. Therefore, there is a need to approach the real issues and problems of the troubled people of Jammu and Kashmir from the prism of humanity so that the militancy infested people of Jammu and Kashmir come closer to India and love of affection as well as respect for the country will be infused in the people. For this, it is necessary to wipe the tears from the eyes of the alienated people of Jammu and Kashmir so that the confidence of the Kashmiris in the Indian government is given a boost. This will only be possible when the government is able to bridge the gap and the void between the people of India and the people of Jammu and Kashmir. There is an urgent need to bring the people of Jammu and Kashmir into the national mainstream and for this the pro people and pro friendly approach must be read carefully so that the people of Kashmir feel warmth and come closer to India.
The fact is that the people of troubled Jammu and Kashmir feel most alienated because of the coercive policies of the successive central and state governments and they need a touch of healing and hence the harsh and harsh policies of the government have no place and are not needed and instead a soft approach is the need of the hour and this soft policy should be used to instill the spirit of Indianness among the people so that alienation of the people comes to an end. Hard policies must be abandoned and instead soft policies should be resorted to to heal the wounds and scars of the alienated people. Such policies should be enforced which will lead to the sense of belonging to India among the people and alienation will come to an end. So the alienation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be removed so that the alienated people feel like sons of mother India and the alienation is removed which will pave the way for the development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the same level as the Indian people. To remove the alienation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, there is a need to create ties of unity with India so that the alienated people feel like they belong to India so that the people will consider India as their own country and will be ready to undergo any sacrifice for India. In turn, India should ensure that all amenities and privileges available to people outside Kashmir should be made available to the people of Jammu and Kashmir so that the people do not feel any alienation. In short, it can be said with certainty that it is absolutely necessary to win the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in order for the alienation of this people to come to an end and for this, the government of the center and the LG administration should work.
