Aishwarya Rai is one of the first Indian celebrities to travel abroad and represent India. The actor has spoken often about Indian culture in his international interviews and denounced any misconceptions about its indigenous traditions. She also taught Oprah Winfrey to wear a sari during an interview.
In 2005, the actor appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show during promotions for his Hollywood film. Bride And Prejudice. The actor was greeted by Oprah and introduced as the most beautiful woman in the world. Ahead of her entry into the series, Oprah gave a little insight into Aishwarya’s work and career and mentioned various things including Aishwarya living with her parents and her films not having a kiss scene.

Speaking of romance in Bollywood movies, Oprah Winfrey asked Aishwarya Rai if kissing is taboo in India. She also pointed out that Bollywood movies usually have a song whenever things get hot between a couple. In her response, Aishwarya Rai clarified that kissing is not a familiar sight in India. She added that people kiss each other, but that doesn’t happen around a corner as it is more of a deprived expression of emotion for Indians.
Later in the interview, Aishwarya also revealed that living with her family is a topic of discussion in the West. Oprah agreed with her and pointed out how American parents deport their children when they are 30 years old. In her response, Aishwarya said, “In India it’s more about family, living together and staying connected and it’s probably the most beautiful and the most special. thing. ”Aishwarya Rai also explained the concept of arranged marriage in India and called it a dating service where the parents of two people study each other’s background and set up a meeting.
Finally, Aishwarya Rai also taught Oprah how to wear a sari. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star brought a pink and white saree and helped Oprah drape it. Oprah Winfrey apparently loved the traditional outfit and thanked Aishwarya for draping it for her.
