Russia ready to give potash fertilizer to developing countries: Putin
Moscow, September 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Russia is ready to donate its potassium fertilizers to developing countries.
“Our manufacturers, mainly potash fertilizer producers, are ready to transfer them free of charge to developing countries that urgently need these fertilizers,” Putin told a regular meeting of the Russian Security Council.
The president said he wants the Russian Foreign Ministry to work on the issue as well, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Kremlin.
Large amounts of Russian fertilizers have been piling up in European ports due to sanctions, Putin added.
According to the president, Russia supplied 7 million tons of fertilizer to other countries from May to August, about half of which went to countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
