Punjab polls: Sidhu and Majithia the ‘big political elephants’ crushing ordinary people’s problems, says Arvind Kejriwal

Ahead of the Punjab Assembly polls, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Leader Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday weighed in on Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia who are vying for the seat of Amritsar East by calling them “great political elephants” crushing the problems of ordinary people.

Kejriwal said metaphorically, “These two are very big political elephants, under which ordinary people’s issues are crushed. AAP candidate for Amritsar East constituency, Jeevan Jot, who raises ordinary people’s issues will only win the seat.”

He further claimed that Sidhu did nothing for the people while Majithia had nothing to do with Amritsar East and only came to defeat the leader of the Punjab Congress.

The leader of the AAP claimed that there were good people in other political parties who felt suffocated.

“There are also good people in other parties, who feel suffocated there. I tell all good people to come to our party. When I call hardworking and honest Bhagwant Mann, opponents feel bad because they are corrupt,” he claimed.

While talking about the allegation that the AAP is part of the BJP, Kejriwal said, “Did I have an ED raid on Channi Saheb saying BJP? If I am so powerful I should ask them to do more of ED raids.”

Kejriwal also said dirty politics dominate the system even after 75 years of Indian independence.

“It’s been 75 years since our country gained independence and freedom was achieved after a great struggle. We forget the sacrifice made by freedom fighters and dirty politics dominate the system,” said the head of the PAA.

According to Kejriwal, the sacrifices of freedom fighters should not be underestimated. “You cannot underestimate the sacrifice of freedom fighters. There are two personalities who represent Indian freedom movement – Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. We are not only devotees of Babasaheb but we worship him. ”

The AAP organizer said education is for everyone and does not depend on distribution. “Babasaheb’s struggle is amazing. I can’t believe such a person came to earth. He came from Mahar caste, faced untouchability but despite that got two doctorates from America and of London. He wrote the constitution of the country. He gave importance to education. His path and that of Bhagat Singh were different, but the destination was the same,” Kejriwal said.

“In Delhi, we announced on January 26 that pictures of Babasaheb and Ambedkar would be installed in every office. Today we are announcing that every government office will have pictures of Babasaheb and Bhagat Singh and no other political leaders if the government is formed. in Punjab. So whenever they see Babasaheb and Bhagat Singh, their sacrifice will be remembered,” Kejriwal said.

He added that the Punjab government will follow their ideas after the AAP comes to power.
