President, PM, others convey Janmashtami greetings to people

Indian President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders from all political lines yesterday greeted the citizens of the country on the occasion of Janmashtami.

Janmashtami is celebrated every year across the country to mark Lord Krishna’s birthday.

“Warm greetings to all fellow countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. From the life of Lord Krishna, we can imbibe the qualities of education by performing selfless deeds for the welfare of the people. I wish this holiday sacred inspires all of us to put everyone’s interest first with thought, word and deed,” Murmu tweeted.

Conveying his well wishes, Modi tweeted, “My warm greetings to all fellow countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. May this festival of devotion and merriment bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune to everyone’s life. Long live Shri Krishna !”

Moreover, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also extended his greetings on this occasion and said that Lord Krishna’s teachings in the Bhagvad Gita have been a great inspiration to mankind. Shri Krishna, the vice president said, is the embodiment of divine love, supreme beauty and eternal happiness.

“His timeless teachings in the Bhagavad Gita have been a great inspiration to mankind. May this Janmashtami bring peace, harmony and happiness into our lives,” the Vice President’s Secretariat tweeted, quoting Dhankhar .

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also extended their wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, “Happy Janmashtami to all fellow countrymen, I wish Lord Shri Krishna’s blessings remain on everyone.”

BJP Chairman JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also wished the people.

“Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all devotees and devotees of ‘Shri Krishna Janmashtami’ Yashodanandan, Mohan Kanhaiya, has shown the way of world consciousness towards the establishment of religion, public welfare, peace and collectivism Long live Shri Krishna!” Yogi tweeted.
