Prasar Bharati signs MoU with ICCR to promote Indian culture
New Delhi: In an effort to promote Indian culture, Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding for a period of three years. The MoU aims to bring the best of Indian culture to national and international audiences and to provide TV and digital platforms for performing artists.
Performances by prominent artists associated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will be broadcast on national and international channels in Doordarshan. The dance and music performances will be presented on DD National, DD India, the regional channels of Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati News Services (digital platform of Prasar Bharati) as a weekly program.
In collaboration with ICCR, Doordarshan will produce 52 half-hour episodes, based on cultural events, concerts, music and dance performances organized by ICCR.
The MoU was signed between Director General Doordarshan, Mayank Kumar Agrawal and Director General of ICCR Dinesh K. Patnaik in the presence of Director General (CEO) Prasar Bharati Shashi Shekhar Vempati and other senior officials of Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
This Memorandum of Understanding will be in effect for a period of three years, from December 2021 to December 2024.
