Pakistan wants to establish friendly ties with neighboring countries

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmed said Pakistan is keen to establish peaceful and friendly relations with all its neighboring countries, including India.

Responding to questions during his weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Friday, he said Pakistan is committed to having a meaningful, constructive and results-oriented dialogue with India, but it is up to New Delhi to take necessary measures to create an enabling environment.

Talking about the Pak-India relations, he said the ties are not good since the unilateral and illegal actions taken by the Indian regime on August 5, 2019 in the illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to another question regarding the continued oppression by Indian forces in the held territory, the spokesperson said the international community must do more to check the atrocities committed against the innocent people of Kashmir.

Responding to a question regarding the return of Pakistani students to China, Asim Iftikhar said that the Pakistani authorities are taking up this issue with the relevant Chinatowns so that Pakistani students can return to China to continue their studies.
