Odisha, the embodiment of rich art and culture: Naveen

Bhubaneswar, Nov 6 (UNI) Odisha has always been the embodiment of rich art, culture, literature and traditions that have been honed over centuries, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Sunday .

Speaking at an English daily’s lit festival, Patnaik said these had had a major impact on the consciousness of millions around the world. Today, Odisha is on the border between tradition and modernity which brings out so many hues of life.

He said that at the beginning of the 20th century, one of Odiya’s greatest writers, Fakir Mohan Senapati, published his mind-blowing story of Rebati, the girl who was cursed for daring to study. This was the reality of Odisha at that time. “Compare this with the story of Karama Muduli in the third decade of the 21st century. A tribal girl from the remote hills of Bonda comes to the capital to fulfill her dreams by studying at the RD Women’s University. The current story is l he story of present-day Odisha, a story of immense possibilities,” Patnaik said.

The Chief Minister said that Kalahandi is a district with a long history of poverty. Today, Kalahandi is a major rice producer in Odisha, which helps us contribute to the national food distribution program.

In sports. the national and international sports community looks to Odisha for the conduct of its events.

During the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Odisha took the initiative to provide oxygen across the country to save lives. The state is also central to attracting investors. It’s a turnaround story.

For many years, Odisha has consistently outpaced the national growth rate. ”We have been able to keep pace with the latest technological developments to ensure equitable and inclusive growth. Our development story is so multi-faceted that lives are being transformed in countless ways,” Patnaik said.

Whether it is food production or disaster management; women’s empowerment or health care, sports, education or service delivery; transformational changes are visible across the state. The transformation stories are creating buzz around the nation and across the world, he said. UNI BD SSP
