Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Monday that honest efforts are underway to build a strong Jharkhand to meet the aspirations of the people for whom a separate state has been created.

Raising the national flag at the Morabadi Ground in Ranchi, Soren said there is no place for hatred and separatism in Indian culture and its foundation lies in inclusiveness.

“Our government is constantly striving to build a strong state on the basis of development and democracy. We are making strong and honest attempts to realize the aspirations for which a separate state was created,” he said.

Soren said that although the tribals and the oppressed have been strengthened socially, financially and economically over the past 75 years, the goal of establishing an egalitarian society could not be achieved.

“We can only achieve this goal if we succeed in preventing the exploitation of one person by another person,” he said, recalling the ideals of Bhagat Singh.

Considering the rare rains during the kharif season, the state has requested a special package from the Center, and an amount of Rs 100 crore is being arranged under the crop assistance scheme, the minister said chief.

In the 2021-22 kharif season, the state attained a record production of 74.16 lakh tonnes of foodgrains, he said.

In order to provide financial assistance to farmers, Rs 1,583 crore was sanctioned, he added.

“We have set a goal to generate 4,000MW of electricity from solar power by 2027. Our government has made the decision to provide green coverage to the urban area of ​​the state, works are underway on a plan to provide five units of free electricity by planting a tree,” he said.

Jharkhand’s performance on the innovation index has improved and the state has moved up several places, especially on the parameters of cleanliness and health of women and children, Soren said.

“While greenery has declined in many states, our state saw a 110 square kilometer increase in forest area between 2019 and 2021, achieving better results in forest conservation. Under the new employment law, every employer must employ 75% local candidates for positions with a monthly salary of up to 40,000 rupees, he said.

By organizing a special campaign for nomination to these positions, work has begun to complete the recruitment process within the next six months,” Soren said.

The Chief Minister has said that 1,570 km of four-lane highways will be constructed at an investment of around Rs 30,000 crore in the state.
