Kanakadasa’s Contribution to Dasa Literature is Huge, CM Says

Bangalore, November 22: Kanakadasa was a great philosopher and social reformer, whose contribution to Kannada Dasa literature is immense, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Monday.
Paying homage to Bhakta Kanakadasa by garlanding the statue in front of the legislator’s house on Monday to mark the Kanakadasa Jayanti, the chief minister said the people should strive to implement his teachings in our lives.
Born in Shiggaon, Santa Kanakadasa spent his time in Kaginele and a Sainik school is being built as a Sangolli Rayanna memorial at a cost of Rs 250 crore in addition to a museum, Bommai said and mentioned that the state government intended to hand over the Sainik school to the Ministry of Defense.
The chief minister carried out a survey and inspection of the rain-affected areas of Kolar district, which he visited later in the afternoon.
Condolences on the death of Halakere Sanganabasava Swamiji
The Chief Minister paid a heartfelt tribute to Dr Sanganabasava Mahaswamy of Annadaneshwara Mutt in Gajendragad of Gadag District, who breathed his last in a private city hospital early in the morning.
Swamiji, 85, has made an immense contribution to the Lingayat community, the chief minister said after visiting the hospital to pay homage to him and mentioned that he recently visited the Halakere Mutt and received the blessings of Swamiji .
