Indian Culture & Language Club to host Diwali event on November 6th

Penn State’s Indian Culture and Language Club (ICLC) will host its annual Diwali event on Saturday, November 6. This year, the event will also host singer Jay Sean for a performance.

Kamaljit Singh Jhoot, better known by his stage name Jay Sean, is a British singer-songwriter best known for songs like “Down” with Lil Wayne and “Do You Remember” with Lil John and Sean Paul. Jay Sean was a staple of dance and club music in the early 2000s.

The event will start at 8 p.m. in the alumni hall of the HUB. It will feature performances by Fanaa, Penn State’s South Asian a capella fusion team, as well as Penn State dance teams like JaDhoom, Sher Bhangra, Nritya and Natya. Musical and artistic performances by Penn Staters DJ Parth, Raghav Sehgal and Shambhavi Kunwar are also presented.

The event will feature free prepackaged food from the India Pavilion, located in downtown State College. There will be pakoras, naan, shahi paneer, mango lassi and rice.

The event is open to everyone, with tickets costing $ 10 for Penn State students and $ 15 for everyone else. Tickets can be purchased in the HUB or by courier @iclc_psu on Instagram.
