Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) [India]Nov 19 (ANI): As many as five people, including three members of the Border Security Force (BSF), were arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping a woman in the town of Raisinghnagar, Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, announced the police.

According to the Supplementary Superintendent of Police (ASP), Raisinghnagar, Banwari Lal Meena, the investigation started after the victim’s father registered the case of the alleged gang rape. A medical examination of the woman was carried out. This incident happened late at night at Doodh Dairy located in Kumhar Basti.

“The victim informed Raisinghnagar Police Station of the alleged incident which occurred late Friday evening when she went to the dairy to buy ghee where she was raped by five people in a closed room,” ASP Meena said.

Police said all detained defendants are being questioned at the police station.

“Two people were taken into police custody in the morning after the father registered the case. BSF authorities were informed after the staff became involved after which the three jawans were handed over to the police for investigation by officers. The investigation is ongoing. Action will be taken after this,” he said.

The matter is being investigated and the victim impact statement has been entered under section 164.

Additional Superintendent of Police Banwari Lal Meena, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anu Bishnoi and Police Station Chief Ganesh Kumar Vishnoi are investigating the case.
