from UK to Sri Lanka

With vaccine passports and new Covid-19 travel restrictions in place at airports and countries around the world, it can be difficult to keep track of what passengers need to travel to certain destinations.

A major factor preventing people from flying is restricting the Covid vaccines you need before you go.

In the United Arab Emirates, where Sinopharm has been used extensively, this has been especially prevalent, as many countries do not accept this jab. However, with the UK announcing this week that it will approve the Sinopharm vaccine from November 22, that could be a sign that things are changing.

Here are 10 countries where people who have been vaccinated with Sinopharm can travel now:

1. United Kingdom

From Monday, November 22, the UK will finally accept Sinopharm as one of its approved vaccines for non-quarantine travel.

Authorities have also added Sinovac and Covaxin to the list of vaccines already recognized for travelers from 135 countries, although at the moment this only applies to England, with Scotland and Wales having their own rules.

This means that if you fancy visiting Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace or the Thames in London, enjoying Bristol’s art scene, or heading further north to Manchester or Newcastle, now you can do so without a 10-day quarantine. .

Instead, you will only have to pay for a lateral flow test which you will need to take no later than the end of your second day in the UK. Children under 18 will also follow the same rules from November 22 regardless of their vaccination status.

2. The United States

Earlier this week, the United States updated its travel rules to allow all fully vaccinated travelers from most countries around the world to enter without quarantine. That means New York’s party attractions, Chicago shopping, and California’s winter sunshine are all within reach of anyone vaccinated with Sinopharm, as the vaccine is on the list of approved vaccines.

There should be a two week gap between your flight and when you took your last dose, and you will also need a negative Covid-19 test result taken within the last 72 hours. This can be a PCR test or a rapid antigen test. Children do not need to be vaccinated to fly, but will need a negative Covid-19 test result if they are over 2 years old.

There are also a few forms to fill out, including an attestation form and a contact card, but after that you are free to walk the Boston Freedom Trail, enjoy the thrill of Las Vegas, do ice skating in Central Park or crossing San Francisco’s glittering Golden Gate Bridge.
