Film Fest on Odisha, M’rashtra culture was held

A Film Festival was held on March 3 in mixed mode around the theme “Culture of Odisha and Maharashtra.”

This was part of a joint initiative by Central University of Odisha and Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Viswavidyalaya, Wardha who are jointly organizing the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

As part of this program, students from the two universities participate in joint exercises in virtual mode in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education from February 24 to March 15.

The session began with the Kulgeet of the MGAHVV, culture and the environment. The introductory note was given by Dr. Yasharth Manjul, Professor and Assistant Nodal Officer, EBSB, MGAHV, Wardha. Kamal Swaroop, eminent Indian director, radio producer and screenwriter traced the journey of cinema in Maharashtra.

Films screened by MGAHVV were ‘Warli’ painting and Chhatrapati Shivaji‘. The projected Odisha Central University ‘Laxman Naik’ and ‘Tribes of Odisha’.

The Vice Chancellor, CUO Prof SK Palita, in his presidential address, spoke about the similarities in the culture of Odisha and Maharashtra.

Dr. Pradosh Kumar Swain, Odia Department Faculty and Coordinator spoke about the film festival event.
