NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have registered a complaint against strangers after part of Green Park’s multi-level automated parking lot here, which was opened by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in November last year , collapsed, officials said on Wednesday. .
After the incident on Tuesday evening, the mayor of the SDMC had also ordered an investigation.
A senior Delhi police officer said: “On Tuesday we registered a case under Sections 336 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 427 (mischief causing damage in the amount of Rs 50) against unknown persons. ”

The officer said a full investigation is underway to determine if there were any failures from the relevant authorities or if the incident occurred due to lack of maintenance at the time of commissioning. of the project.
“A thorough technical analysis is underway on the basis of which further action will be taken,” he said.
Officials claimed that no casualties or damage to cars were reported in the incident, while the Aam Aadmi (AAP) party alleged that several cars were damaged.
“The cars are parked on platforms in the automated parking lot. Due to a technical problem, a platform or a floor plate of tower number 3 on the eighth floor of the parking lot has collapsed. was not a major incident. No one was injured nor was any car damaged, “SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan told PTI.
He said strict action would be taken against the culprits.
The automated parking lot was inaugurated in November last year by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Union Minister RK Singh as well as senior SDMC officials.
The 17-story multi-level automatic parking lot near Green Park underground station, built at a cost of Rs 18 crore, was inaugurated in November last year. A total of 136 cars, including 32 SUVs, can be parked.
