The Delhi Literature Festival (#DelhiLitFest), the flagship literary event in the nation’s capital’s cultural calendar, is set to roll out its tenth edition from February 18-27, 2022.

The Delhi Literature Festival, started in 2013, with the aim of promoting literature and the good old habit of reading books. Over the past 9 years, the Delhi Literature Festival has hosted a multitude of speakers from all over the world and engaged with many literature lovers through talks, book readings, book launches and workshops . With the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown imposed, last year’s 9th edition was moved to the online digital platform with authors and moderators joining virtually and engaging with viewers around the world.

With the persistent threat of the Covid 19 pandemic, like last year, this year too the 10th edition of the festival will be held on an online digital platform, spread over 2 weekends from February 18, 2022 to February 27, 2022. In its tenth edition, the festival welcomes renowned authors, artists and content creators from the world of literature, theatre, cinema and reading enthusiasts.

Festival Director, Bharati Bhargava said, “Over the past two years, the Delhi Literature Festival has truly leveraged technology and scaled up, to witness not only the participation of Union Ministers, Nobel laureates and best-selling authors, but also ensured a much wider reach in terms of audience and attendees. . The digital platform provided the opportunity for broader engagement with audiences spread across the globe. The festival is also a platform to promote young and aspiring authors and content creators through the Insta Kahaani contest”

Delhi Literature Festival 2022 list of authors includes bestseller and winner of Amazon’s People’s Book of 2021 in Business and Economics, author of ‘Roaring Lambs’

– Mr. Sreedhar Bevara, Nobel Laureate and Author Dr. Kailash Satyarthi, Dr. Shashi Tharoor and Union Culture Minister Shri Kishan G. Reddy, Union Minister and Author Shri Bhupender Yadav with Economist Ila Patnaik , the best-selling The Rise of the BJP and Mr. Mayank Bidawatka, co-founder of Koo, the in-house social media app.

The festival will feature politician Manish Tewari analyzing India’s counter-terrorism tactics over the years, through his book ’10 Flashpoints 20 Years’. The public will also attend a session with mythological author Smt. Bhanumathi Narasimhan, Bollywood actors Neena Gupta and Divya Dutta, best novelist, Ajay Kumar Panday, journalist Sagarika Ghose who wrote the book about Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Rookie author Nidhi Upadhyay, whose novel That Night: Four Friends, Twenty Years, One Haunting Secret was Asia’s best-selling suspense thriller, will discuss writing the dark and twisted story of friendship and betrayal. The festival will also feature the works of Dr Purushottam Aggarwal on the great poet Kabir, The Begum & the Dastan by Tarana Hussain Khan, Sita by Bhanumathi Narasimhan, A tale of ancient love and a session with historian Dr.Vikram Sampath on Veer Savarkar .

The closing session of the festival will be a session with Shranaya Bhattacharya who will discuss her book “Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh: India’s Lonely Young Women and the Search for Intimacy and Independence”, and why she put together a story of what endeared Indian women. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and what this love can tell us about women themselves.

In a bid to promote and popularize digital content creators, Delhi Literature Festival has launched a special competition for young talent titled Insta-Kahani. Participants were encouraged to tell their story on the theme of “Celebrate the Indian in Me” or “Enjoy Life” and capture their engaging and thought-provoking idea as a one-minute video reel and publish it. on Instagram. The winners of the competition were facilitated at the curtain raising event held at DLF Mall, Saket.
