City Writers and Literates Gather and Share Ideas at School Literature Conclave | News from Navi Mumbai

NAVI MUMBAI: A spectacular “Literary Conclave” was organized on June 10 at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium in Vashi, by all DAV schools in Mumbai and Thane region, which brought together distinguished guests from various fields – education , media, literature, performing arts, etc. .
The auditorium was filled with several scholars, students, teachers, alumni, parents, directors of various schools and heads of various administrations.
The event included a welcome dance by students from various DAV schools, a welcome speech by Western Region Regional Officer, Jose Kurien on literature and its importance, a musical performance by alumni of DAV Karthik Srinivasan, guitarist Bonney Singh and some Q&A sessions.
The event was moderated by Manoj Mittal, Founder of DAV United Foundation and Hema Nair, Principal DAV International School, Mulund with support from Simmi Juneja, Principal DAV Public School, Thane.
Author Akshat Gupta spoke about her life and work, followed by a panel discussion between parents, students, alumni and teachers featuring revered author, screenwriter and DAV alumnus Kanika Dhillon, where she discussed his literary journey and DAV’s role in his life and career. Renowned author Devdutt Pattanaik also inspired the students by talking about his life experiences and Indian mythology. Dr. Nisha Peshin, Director of the DAV College Management Committee, Dean of DAV United and Responsible for Publishing DAV Textbooks, spoke about literature and its impact on education. She gave an overview of her book “Let Them Fly: My Tryst with Kids” by sharing some anecdotes. Other panelists included actress-turned-author and poet Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Sagareeka Roy Bhatia, Hitesh Jain, Radhakrishna Pillai, several DAV alumni including Parikshit Dhume and Arjun Deshpande.
