Alliance to Host First College Literature Festival – The New Indian Express
BENGALURU: Alliance University will host its first-ever university-run Indian Literary Festival on May 20-21. The festival, as designed by the university’s liberal arts school, will feature a host of personalities including MP and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor and journalist Rajdeep Sardesai.
Speaking at a press conference, Anirudh Sridhar, Associate Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, said: “The aim of the festival is to combine Bangalore’s role as a technology hub as well as its cultural . This festival does not only exist as a region for philosophy and history but also for applied mathematics, technical sciences and humanities. It is imperative for us to do what Bengaluru has done, which is to establish a foundation for technology and innovation and then build a culture on it.
The festival was organized by curator of the Kochi Biennale, Abhayan Varghese, who has been supported by various writers and other personalities including Bangalore Literature Festival Shinie Antony and author Nandita Bose. Sridhar added, “It is not just a forum for the literary and cultural elite, but a place where politicians, diplomats, lawyers, judges, journalists, writers and others come together to reflect. to the serious questions of the present time”.
