Agtech WRMS will hire 200 people by the end of the year

The start-up Agritech Weather Risk Management Services (WRMS) plans to expand its workforce by adding more than 200 new employees by the end of the year. The company is hiring for all positions, including freshmen, mid-level and experienced students, the company said in a statement.

WRMS seeks to add skill sets such as GIS – remote sensing, data science, IoT, flutter app developer, Android developer, and PHP developer, among others. In addition to technical skills, the company recruits talent in management, backend, business development, finance, operations, marketing and sales, field executives, and farm callers. WRMS recruits in Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities for these skills.

WRMS’ SecuFarm app is the world’s first smart and sustainable farming solution that combines the most advanced technology-backed cultivation advice for smallholder farmers to provide them with farm-level yield assurance. With over 25,000 farmers registered to date, SecuFarm aims to reach over one million farmers by 2024 in all regions of the country.

Anuj Kumbhat, Founder and CEO of WRMS, said, “We have made great strides in delivering innovative agricultural products and services that are transforming the lives of smallholder farmers. We’ve seen massive growth over the past few months, so we need a pool of skilled talent who can deliver to customers and be part of our growth journey.

Kumbhat added, “This hire is very critical to our next phase of growth. We are looking for passionate minds, who can help us evolve the SecuFarm platform and further strengthen our positioning as a leading agritech company.

WRMS recently received a €2.1 million grant from the InsuResilience Solutions Fund to build resilience for smallholder farmers in India with a yield guarantee. WRMS is using this new capital to develop and implement the Yield Guarantee solution to improve the resilience of 100,000 smallholder farmers in India against climate risks and encourage smart agricultural risk management practices.
