Scheduled for March 5-14, 2022, the Jaipur Literature Festival is set to bring a spectacular evening of heritage to the field on March 13 at Ganesh Pol, Amer Fort. Famous as ‘Kumbh of Literature’, the iconic literary festival takes place in a hybrid avatar featuring stellar artists from India and around the world as part of the Heritage Evening programme.
In partnership with Rajasthan Tourism, the Jaipur Literature Festival brings arts and culture together at the magnificent Amer Fort, celebrating Jaipur’s rich historical and architectural heritage through a culturally diverse showcase of poetry, dance and music at the famous landmark.
In its previous editions, the Festival has welcomed various acclaimed artists who have enamelled the stage with their euphonic energy. On the program, a moving performance by Kalapini Komkali namely BASANT SANGEET displaying songs by Hori, Rasiya and a special tribute to Pt. Kumar Gandharva. Principal dancer and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas will present A Tribute to the Late Pandit Birju Maharaj – UNCHARTED SEAS. Ending the evening on a spectacular note, students from ARCH COLLEGE OF DESIGN & BUSINESS, Jaipur will present A FASHION SHOW: GABA, which will be a celebration of conscious and sustainable living.
Celebrating the 15th edition, classical singer and daughter of the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Kalapini Komkali noted, “Being part of such an honorable gathering gives me immense pleasure and joy, allowing me to unleash the power of music. This festival, in my opinion, brings together great scholars, performers and young artists, which makes it makes a world-renowned extravaganza. This year, I will embrace the beauty of spring through my melodies, making it a memorable evening for all its attendees.
Also on the program, leader dancer and choreographer Kathak Aditi Mangaldas noted, “May our dance be the rainbow that transcends the clouds that have descended upon the art world, and may our art form be the color that fills our lives with hope. Our source of warmth and energy this season is the opportunity to perform at the Heritage Night of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2022. Concluding the Heritage Evening with what promises to be a breathtaking spectacle, Archana SoranaFounder and Director of ARCH School of Design, Jaipur, said: “We are delighted that the Jaipur Literature Festival is back [on-ground] this year, because two years ago we had an amazing heritage fashion show at the beautiful Fort d’Amer! This year again, we are hosting a portable art exhibition that showcases the grandeur of Rajasthan and indigenous knowledge systems that can be further utilized to build a design culture that goes beyond heritage.
