“A lot of people had written it off”
Hardik Pandya’s childhood coach Kiran Plus recently mentioned that he was confident the all-rounder would do well in this Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).
Speaking to Sportskeeda, he said while Hardik is under the scanner for fitness and form, he is certain the player will silence his critics with his performances in the money-rich league. More suggested Hardik was capable of doing just that with his on-field heroism and impressive leadership.
“When he went to play in the IPL I had faith that Hardik would prove his critics wrong. A lot of people had written him off but I was convinced he would do something special. He made his proven by batting well, bowling well, and captaining the team as well.”
Hardik showed terrific form at the IPL 2022. With 487 runs in 15 games, he finished as his side’s top scorer in the edition. Additionally, he pocketed eight scalps and had a fantastic save rate of 7.27 to his name.
“Krunal also deserves a lot of credit” – Kiran More on Hardik Pandya’s brother’s role in his recovery
More also shared how Krunal Pandya played a major role in Hardik Pandya’s recovery. He revealed that the two often clash on the pitch, which made it very entertaining for the spectators.
“Hardik’s brother Krunal also deserves a lot of credit. They both compete on the pitch. Krunal captains one side, while Hardik leads the other. It’s always fun to watch the jokes between the two brothers.”
The cricketer-turned-coach suggested that Hardik’s presence greatly increased the balance of the Indian side. He believes the player has changed a lot since his return and also praised his temper.
On this, More said:
“He’s a key member of the Indian team. Nobody can give the team the balance that Hardik Pandya can. When you take him out of the team, things become very different. I give him full marks for his return and his temper, and there is a total change in him.”
Hardik is currently in Australia with Rohit Sharma and Co. for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. He is expected to play a major role for the Men in Blue at the showpiece event.
