10 people arrested for inciting people from economically weaker sections to convert to Christianity

Lucknow: Fatehpur SP Rajesh Singh says he received massive conversion complaint and 10 people arrested in the case. SP Rajesh Singh also said strict action will be taken against those involved.
Previously, about 14 people were arrested for inciting people from economically weaker sections to convert to Christianity in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The economically weaker sections were offered buffaloes and they were lured into jobs to convert to Christianity. According to reports, school admissions for children have also been offered to poor Hindus in Fatehpur villages of UP.

Cops from Kotwali Police Station have so far arrested 39 people. SP Rajesh Singh said eight conversion cases have been recorded in the district.

“In five of these cases the defendants were arrested and an indictment was filed in all cases. Cops from Kotwali Police Station arrested 26 people, including the priest in one case, and dispatched them in jail, the remaining 13 arrests were made in four cases,” the Fatehpur SP added.

Police issued notices against 42 people and SP Rajesh Singh said if anyone was involved in the conversion case, strict action would be taken against them.

Taking major steps in mass conversion, so far the police have sent three dozen people, including the pastor, to jail.
