Queen Ifrica has surpassed herself with
her latest album 'Montego Bay.'
From track 1 'T.T.P.N.C.' which is
a Rasta chant tribute to the Niyabinghi People Center
located in Montego Bay, Jamaica to track 13 'Daddy
(Spanish Version)' Queen Ifrica reaches out to the world
with deep conviction and spreads the message that life is
precious and we should all live as equals. Never one
to hold back, she delivers social commentaries as only she
can, with no apology.
Queen Ifrica asks tough questions to the
leaders in her title track 'Montego Bay' the tourist
areas are rich and clean but why is it that in the regular
streets of Montego Bay the children have nowhere to play, no
clean drains, narrow streets and no pretty public bathing
area. On 'Coconut Shell' the Fyah Muma rides
the Satta Massagana riddim while telling about the aromatic
scent of marijuana, all of the good uses for the herb and
the joys of holding a reasoning. The royal track
'Lioness On The Rise' asks if you will be ready to
fight for our children when the roll is called, will you be
able to roll with the punches and do what you are called to
do? The Lioness is always ready and is ready for the
front line. 'Calling Africa' calls out to
the children of Africa to unite and for violence to cease.
Queen Ifrica urges the Africans to stand up for equality,
fight for justice and trample the beast, it is a powerful
track. The love songs 'In My Dream'
and 'Far Away' show Queen Ifrica's softer feminine side
that her fans will love. 'Streets Are Bloody'
is a livity tune telling the tale of a young man murdered on
the streets and the tears that are shed over his death, it
is a tune dedicated to all who are missing someone today.
Queen Ifrica in realizing the power of her hit single
'Daddy' added it to the album with both English and
Spanish versions, this track which talks about child abuse
needs to be translated into as many languages as possible as
it has really helped bring to the forefront the problem
which has always been there but people have been afraid to
bring out into the open.
Queen Ifrica's album 'Montego Bay'
is a must have album that the entire family can enjoy.
