Media Veteran Stan Evan Smith Featured On TV Program "Proud To Be" & In Anti-Gay Forum

On Saturday Jan 12th 2008, the program “Proud to be" will feature a 1/2 hour profile on Stan Evan Smith, media veteran of radio/television and print, publicist, photographer, music on writer and culture. Stan’s columns, interviews, writings and features have appeared in various publications in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. The profile will examine his life, contributions and accomplishments as professional in media experience in Music, Journalism, Public Relations Radio and Television, the field of healthcare/social service, academics and community activities.  The program will be aired on Manhattan Neighborhood Network, Channel 57 at 8:30 pm.

Also: Everybody’s Magazine Contributing Editor and West Indian Times Staff Writer Stan Evan Smith will participate in a Forum on Anti- Gay Lyrics in Reggae Music as a panelist at the lecture room of Grand Army Plaza branch of the Brooklyn Library on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 6pm-9pm. The other panelists include Stacey Ann Chin, poet and activist, Pat McKay, radio personality and programmer at Sirius Satellite radio, Dr. Kelly Baker Josephs, professor of Caribbean literature and gender studies at York College, D.J. Roy, Caribbean radio personality at IRIE JAM 93.5, and Donald Powell, Executive Director of the Anti-Discrimination Project at 'Gay Men of African Descent.'
