Many hits followed: "Money Man Skank," "One in a Million," "One Big Family," "Pouchie Lou," the socially conscious "Mr. Landlord," and the all-time dancehall classic "Level the Vibes." The huge hit “Substitute Lover” came in 1992, and in 1996 the rock group Sublime covered another Half Pint classic, “Loving.  Essential will shortly release NO STRESS EXPRESS, the highly anticipated album of entirely new material with distribution via Universal Music Group Distribution, and a digitally re-mastered Greatest Hits compilation to be distributed by IDN. Vegas' 'Must Come A Road' picking up momentum

"Mi must come a road…mi must come a road…" the catchy phrase is delivered in a style like only Vegas can.   He kicks off the single with an engaging telephone conversation as a prelude to his message.  In this one Vegas venture into the street happenings and the perception given to informers. He also delves into some trials faced in lock up.  Vegas injects some humor and yes harsh realities into 'Must Come A Road'.   But then again that's not strange to the singjay as one of his most popular song 'Heads High' was like an anthem for all the 'good girls' as he took a definite stance in encouraging them to keep their dignities.   'Must Come A Road' since its release has been enjoying some heavy rotation and whenever it's played in the dancehall…it's pure lighters. This one definitely sell off! He is currently doing the treatment for the video which will be shot in the next 2-3 weeks under the supervision of director Jay Will.  The song is produced by Stanley Hayden it is expected that this song will be in the popularity ranks leading into the Christmas season.

kanye-west.jpgKanye West's mother and former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department, 58-year-old Dr. Donda West has died suddenly.  According to multiple sources, West was in Los Angeles and her death may have been the result of complications from a surgical procedure; Patricia Green, Dr. West's publicist, told CNN on today, Monday (November 12) that the surgery was cosmetic but did not provide further details.  Kanye West chronicled his love for his mother in 'Hey Mama', a song from his 2005 album Late Registration.  In the song, Kanye raps, "(Hey Mama), I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I'm so proud of you / Let me tell you what I'm about to do, (Hey Mama) / I know I act a fool but, I promise you I'm goin back to school /I appreciate what you allowed for me, I just want you to be proud of me (Hey Mama)."
West eventually performed the song in front of his mother and Oprah Winfrey on the TV host's highly rated show.  Although she was renown as Kanye West's mother, Donda West had achieved much on her own.  She served as the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University, but retired to act as Kanye's manager. She was an English professor for 31 years.  Earlier this year, she released a book called Raising Kanye, which chronicled her journey of raising her son.  Kanye's mom death has impacted her hometown in Chicago and already there is an outpouring of love.  Kendra G, a Morning Show co-host at Power 92 in Chicago shared in the rapper’s grief, "The city of Chicago is hurting for Kanye West and his family. We know how much he loved and valued his mother and we  just ask other cities to join us in prayer for Kanye," she said.
