It looks like all the constant brushes
with the law have finally ended up working against rapper
Foxy Brown, which should come as no surprise. On
Friday, looking tired and worn out, she was sentenced to one
year in jail for violating probation stemming from a fight
with two manicurists in a New York City salon.
"I'm not going to give you any more chances," Criminal Court
Judge Melissa Jackson told Brown. "I hope you turn your life
around and never again have to stand in a court of law."
Then to make matters worse, Brown, whose real name is Inga
Marchand, was also indicted in Brooklyn on Friday on charges
that she smacked a neighbor with a cell phone. Back in
the court room, Brown confessed to the judge that being in
jail for the past month at Rikers Island has, "humbled me in
a way I never imagined." However, Judge Jackson wasn't
impressed, and told the rapper, "It's too little too late."
Jackson noted that Brown has been arrested three times and
violated her probation repeatedly since she pleaded guilty
last year to hitting a manicurist in a midtown Manhattan
salon. "My dear, you stand in this position
because of your own doing," the judge said. Brown was
sent back to Riker Island to serve her sentence. Her lawyer
says he hopes the rapper only serves eight months, with time
off for good behavior. |
